Human Rights and SOGIESC Awareness

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQ) individuals face immense challenges daily, including discrimination, violence, and exclusion from basic human rights. To ensure human rights for all, it is crucial to have a collective understanding and critical awareness of issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC).

The LinQ Foundation promotes awareness, equal treatment, and respect for SOGIESC individuals to help to end systemic discrimination and human rights abuses. Our work includes ensuring that an inclusive society ensure everyone has access to healthcare, education, housing, and employment free from discrimination and violence. Overcoming legal and social barriers to SOGIESC inclusion can benefit everyone, not just the LGBTQ community.

One essential tool we share to understand SOGIESC is the Gender Bread Person. This graphic representation helps break down gender identity, gender expression, biological sex, and attraction to individuals and raises awareness about the natural diversity of SOGIESC. It is essential to recognize that SOGIESC individuals may face challenges that are specific to their experiences and deserve the same rights and protections afforded to all individuals.
